FICCO to Give Scholarship Grants to 50K Women Sari-Sari Store Owners

Posted on Posted in All News

In cooperation with Coca-Cola and TESDA, FICCO aims to empower, by 2020, 50,000 women sari-sari store owners by providing free business and life skills training.  This is partly funded by Coca-Cola through its Sari-sari Store Training and Access to Resources (STAR) Program.  The scholarship training program is accredited with TESDA and will consist of 12 weeks of training sessions to teach women entrepreneurs how to effectively manage their sari-sari stores.

A very important component of this training program is the access to resources and networking.  For their business capital needs, the qualified STAR graduates can avail of financial assistance from FICCO.  Through networking, FICCO can also leverage our numbers and solicit help from our existing partners and other companies like Gaisano, SM, La Victoria, Lucky Me, etc., by giving out discounts, promos, free delivery, and other assistance to our STAR graduates.  On top of that, FICCO will also help their businesses by linking them with our existing networks/livelihood projects like G Cash, Koop Mart, Winrock project, Neo TV, FCOF – Baboy na Walang Amoy program, Coca-Cola merchandising program, etc.  This is so they can earn additional income.  It is envisioned that these STAR graduates will become future partners of FICCO in selling our fee-based products to our other members.

For those interested sari-sari store owners, please visit any FICCO branch and fill up a STAR Program Scholarship application form.
